Vintage Guild 1966 Starfire VI Sunburst Semi-Hollowbody Guitar With OHSC

Used And Vintage Guitars
Here at Truetone, we love seeing great vintage guitars come in, especially ones you don't see very often.  This 1966 Guild Starfire VI represents a pinnacle of vintage semi-hollow body design, delivering the articulate, resonant character that defined the era.

The laminated maple construction with spruce center block minimizes feedback while preserving the instrument's natural sustain and harmonic complexity. Its three-piece neck with bound ebony fingerboard provides both structural integrity and refined aesthetics. The original Guild humbucking pickups offer a distinctly brighter voice than comparable Gibson counterparts, with exceptional clarity across the frequency spectrum. Gold-plated hardware, individual pickup controls, and the integrated Bigsby tremolo system enable nuanced tonal shaping and expressive vibrato effects. Deluxe mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays complement the striking Sunburst finish with flame maple top.

The guitar is all original except the knobs, which are from an older Guild. They’re still vintage, just not what was on a ‘66 Starfire. The binding is pulling loose at all curves and the F-holes. The headstock face is missing part of the pearl “G” as well as a piece of binding around the top. The original finish is quite worn - in a cool, natural way that gives it a great vintage vibe.  The guitar has low frets (no refret) but there's still life left there.   The orginal case is included, but it's in a really worn and beat-up state with latches broken - you can tell this thing live a good life on the road (it truly did - it was previously owned by a touring musician).  As you can tell, we believe in full disclosure!  Most importantly, the guitar has been professionally set up by our tech and plays and sounds great.

A sought-after instrument for discerning players and collectors - this Guild Starfire VI from 1966 is a great find.
