Vintage 1966 Gibson ES-335-TD Sunburst Electric Guitar With OHSC
1966 what a year! In the world of music, we got Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys, Revolver by The Beatles, and Da Capo by Love. We also got some incredible guitars, and a fine example is this incredible vintage Gibson ES-335 from 1966. Ever since then, it's had just one owner, until now - it's ready for its new home.
The Gibson ES-335 is by far one of the most imitable semi-hollow body guitars ever made. With its dual humbuckers you get thick tones with the airyness of its semi-hollow body. Built with a resonant laminated arched maple body with its classic "F"-holes, the double bound body has the classic Sunburst finish with a teardrop center. There is a set mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and super comfortable neck profile, topped with the classic inlays.
This one being from 1966 has fantastic acoustic properties, but of course when you plug it is when the magic happens. The ES-335 comes packed with a pair of legendary humbuckers. These pickups provide the perfect punch and power for any style of music, especially when you can crank up the gain. The woody tones of this guitar classic are legendary as this instrument has been a go-to for countless artists, studios, and recordings.
You of course have the tune-o-matic bridge for excellent sustain, stability, and intonation. But this one features a player upgrade with an expressive Bigsby tremolo. That's right now you can pitch bend this incredible guitar. While a lot of players love a Bigsby on an ES-335, it's not something you see very often, especially on one like this.
Everything else is original, including the tuners, other hardware, and pickups. It's just the addition of the Bigby that makes it not fully stock. The original hardshell case is included as well.
Previously owned by a single person since it was a brand new guitar, it has withstood the test of time under proper care. This vintage Gibson ES-335 is in excellent condition, especially considering its age. It's been played, of course, so there are finish marks but nothing that stands out, even in the close-up images. We should want to look this good at nearly 60 years old. The guitar has been vetted by our vintage expert and setup to play perfectly.
