Vintage 1961 Fender Jazzmaster 3-Tone Sunburst with Case

BIG RED
We are excited to present a great vintage example of an amazing Jazzmaster with the coolest of vibes. Up for sale for the first time is this 1961 Jazzmaster, with its own unique backstory (as well as look).
The guitar was the legendary Ted Greene's favorite Jazzmaster, nicknamed Big Red (seen in his biography). From there, it was owned by Junior Garrison and utilized for years in the studio & stage (including an appearance Late Night with David Letterman). This guitar has some history! It also has a very interesting wear pattern on the front, created by Garrison's unique playing style. The finish is original, and has stayed vibrant over the years. All of the parts are original as well, except for the trem arm collet (it wore down over the years and was replaced). The neck is straight, made out of rock solid maple with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard. It plays amazingly well, largely in part to being refretted and re-radiused to 12".
This is a stunning example of a vintage '61 Fender Jazzmaster, with tons of personality. The body has an incredible resonance - it's lively, loud, and full-sounding unplugged. Once plugged in, you'll hear that truly classic Jazzmaster sound. It's crystal clear on the treble side, with warmth on the bass side. There are plenty of mids, as Jazzmasters tend to have, giving it the ability to cover the width of the tonal spectrum. This one has a nice, rounded "jazzy" sound, and is still quite versatile. We've really enjoyed testing it out through a variety of amps.
The guitar comes with the original case as well. This is the complete package. It's been setup to play perfectly, by our in-house offset specialist, and is ready to find it's new home. Come to Truetone Music to expereince it in person, or order right here for it to be safely shipped (fully insured) to your home.
