Used Riccardo Mordeglia Manouche FM Model Gypsy Guitar Natural

Used And Vintage Acoustic Guitars

Up for sale is this great Maccaferri guitar from master builder Riccardo Mordeglia. The Manouche guitar, also called gypsy guitar or Maccaferri guitar, was born in the 20/30s of the 1900s by the maestro Mario Maccaferri, which later became famous thanks to musicians such as Django Reinhardt. These guitars are prized for their distinct sound, loud volume, and stylish design.

Straight out of Italy, this handbuilt instrument is a great example of Mordeglia's work.  The neck is super comfortable, and the body is extremely resonant.  It features two "F" holes and hybrid bracing making it a unique model. It features beautiful cherry wood for its back and sides,  which is also dynamic, expressive, and full of harmonics.

The FM model is a particular guitar with a maccaferri design but with soundholes and hybrid bracing.  It's definitely a unique piece, and built to high quality standards.

The guitar is in excellent condition and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  There does appear to be a repaired crack on the body, which seems to have been very well done and is stable.  The bridge was also altered at some point.  We don't see many gypsy guitars here, and when we do, they tend to go quick.  We think this one will too!
