We just took in a very special guitar - it's a rare bird, and nearly impossible to find in such amazing, nearly new condition like this one. Here's the scoop on it:
To pay homage to 50 years of innovation, in 2004 Fender released the Limited Edition 50th Anniversary American Series Stratocaster. The solid ash body with a maple neck and a parchment pickguard evoke the classic look of the original 1954 Stratocaster guitars, while the Fender American Series synchronized tremolo bridge, custom staggered tuning machines, 9.5" radius fretboard and medium jumbo frets add a modern touch. The striking Chrome Blue finish added a taste of the current century.
To give this guitar even more of a vintage vibe, the 50th Anniversary American Series Stratocaster was equipped with the same 1954 replica pickups used on the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary model, which are reproductions of the original pickups wound by Abigail Ybarra, who has been making Fender pickups since the 1950s. It also features a special engraved neck plate that celebrates the anniversary. The 50th Anniversary American Series Stratocaster was available only from January 15th thorough December 31st, 2004.
We got this guitar from a customer that bought it brand new in 2004, and soon thereafter realized that the electric guitar wasn't for home (he's a classical player). It then went into a closet until reemerging 17 years later. So, there is essentially no player wear on it whatsoever. It's been vetted and setup by the techs in our repair shop, and plays perfectly. The rolled edges on the fretboard make it super comfortable.
This is an amazing looking, feeling and sounding Strat. And, due to it's Limited Edition designation and rarely seen color, it's collectible too. The original hardshell case is included. Don't miss the opportunity before it's gone.
