In 1961, the Les Paul model was temporarily discontinued and a completely new design emerged, eventually becoming the iconic SG or "solid guitar." Here we have a special version that just came in. This Gibson SG Standard '61 in Tobacco Sunburst Perimeter showcases the renowned tone and quality of Gibson. The lightweight mahogany body and slim-taper neck provide exceptional playability, while the rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays adds to its timeless aesthetic.
Featuring vintage-inspired 61R and 61T humbuckers, this SG delivers a rich, warm sustain and punchy response that have made it a staple in rock and blues music for decades - but also with enough versatility to be used in other styles. The controls include audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors for added power and top end.
The Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece offer reliable stability and enhanced resonance for consistent, high-performing tuning.
The nitro lacquer finish looks exquisite - and Tobacco Sunburst Perimeter is a color not normally done on an SG. This is a special run done for dealer, so it's normally not available. We just took it in and are really digging the look.
The original case is included. This SG is in excellent condition, with barely any evidence of it being played other than some normal light finish scratches that can't be seen in the photos, and nothing major. It's in great shape. The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, and it's ready to go!
