Used Fender Special Run Telecaster Deluxe Modded Arctic White

Back in 2010, a Fender Special Run model was released: a super cool Telecaster Deluxe in Artic White. It evokes the vibe of the early 70's, with some tweaks and modern features thrown in to give it better playability. Somewhere along the way of the last 15 years, this particular one took on a life of it's own as it was modified. Now, here it is, as it's own beast of a guitar.
What you get is an alder body loaded with dual humbuckers and the styling you see on a '72 Tele Deluxe. But, this doesn't have the normal Strat style neck - this one is all Tele all day. However, it does have a Modern C profile for comfort, along with a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets. It's a great playing guitar.
Now here's where the mods roll in....
This guitar has located with a set of Brandonwound Wide Range Humbuckers. Accounding to them, these are very unique, as they had a plastic injection mold built to spit out the correct size bobbins for the correct size wire that was used in 1972 on the original. They do not use cunife magnets; instead these have a version of Alnico 2 and Alnico 5 threaded magnets. This is a big improvement from the cunife magnets. They use plain enamel or red poly wire to correct vintage spec. What you get is a clean, clear sound. The neck pickup has a warm tone that doesn't get muddy, and while the bridge pickup will help you cut through the mix, it will do so in a way that's not too bright. It's a well balanced set.
You also get 920D wiring, a treble bleed mod, CTS pots and WD caps. Additionally the guitar has KGC (Killer Guitar Components) custom brass milled saddles put on the original Fender American Vintage strings-through-body Strat-style hardtail bridge. The tuners are original, as are the knobs, pickguard and other parts. Lastly, a bone nut was crafted here at Truetone and installed on the guitar.
Altogether, this guitar has a lot going on. But what's important (because how cool it looks) is how great it feels and how amazing it sounds. It has all of that.
It's in great shape, with a small ding on the body (in the finish) but nothing major. The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly. This is quite the find and the only one out there like it!
