Used Fender Mod Shop Jaguar Left-Handed Sherwood Green With Case
Southpaws rejoice - we have a very unique Fender for you! This is an American-made Jaguar, the first lefty like it as a Mod Shop build. You have seen one like this before, as it's probably the only one exactly like it.
Fender created the Mod Shop as an online configurator on the heels of the success of the American Design Experience. Part of the appeal for guitar players was creating versions of iconic American guitars with their own personalization tagged on. It soon became apparent that the biggest demographic was left-handed players. For the first time, they could get a variety of colors, specs and options normally not available to them. This guitar was made to exemplify that.
It's based on an American Professional Jaguar, with the unique twist of being a maple fretboard - almost all other Jaguars have a rosewood fretboard. Also, it's in Sherwood Green, a color rarely ever seen. Especially on a lefty!
The body is made of alder, it's lightweight (just 8.0 lbs) and is very well-balanced. It features a very comfortable C - D neck shape (starts as a C shape in the first position, then transitions to a flatter D shape as you go up the neck). It has a 9.5" radius and 22 frets, with easy access all the way up.
This Jaguar is loaded with Fender V-Mod pickups. Developed by Michael Frank, the V-Mod Jaguar pickup design expands the guitar’s sonic palette with hot, vintage-informed tone. Voiced specifically for today’s creative players, these pickups have unbeveled Alnico 5 magnets, with plenty of midrange punch and definition. The guitar also features a stripped down control set, compared to a vintage-style Jaguar. The usual three sliders at the bottom make way for a more practical four-way switch, the fourth position being both pickups in series – an idea lifted from the fantastic Johnny Marr signature model. The rhythm circuit is replaced by a single slider to knock the pickups out of phase in the two ‘both’ positions.
The guitar has been vetted and setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. Everything is original, as is the hardshell case. We absolutely love the combination of Sherwood Green, a tortoise shell pickguard and the maple neck. It's a unique look, and as every left-handed player knows, getting a unique guitar can be a real challenge. So if you're into this, don't let it slip by!
