The Epiphone SG Standard is a fantastic tribute to the 1961 classic that famously took over for the Les Paul. This guitar is everything that has made the SG a legend in music, especially rock.
Finished in an iconic Vintage Cherry, this model captures the spirit of the early '60s with its solid lightweight mahogany body and the classic "double-cut" horns that offer exceptional access to the upper frets. Unlike later versions, this '60s iteration features the smaller, period-correct "batwing" pickguard, giving it a sleek, vintage-accurate look that has defined rock and roll for generations. The neck features a SlimTaper 60s C-profile mahogany neck and an Indian Laurel fingerboard. The 24.75" scale length and 12" radius make it effortless for string bends and comfortable chording. This model is also equipped with the Graph Tech NuBone nut and CTS electronics.
The Epiphone SG Standard is powered by dual humbuckers, designed to replicate the "P.A.F." tone of the golden era. The ProBucker-2 in the neck and ProBucker-3 in the bridge provide a versatile range of tones. It provides warm, woody cleans to the biting, aggressive crunch of legends like Angus Young and Pete Townshend.
This SG is a professional-grade machine that brings authentic vintage vibe and tone at an affordable price. This one is in great condition - it has a ding on the bottom of the body but is otherwise quite clean. It came to us without a truss rod cover; we've applied an aftermarket one that fits perfectly. The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, so it's ready to go!
