This Alvarez AF65GD/MSHB Limited Edition Grateful Dead acoustic is a trippy, high-performance tribute to one of the most iconic bands in history.
This limited edition Alvarez comes with a versatile OM/Folk body shape that features a solid A+ Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, all finished in a mellow Shadow Burst gloss. The real star of the show is the custom "Dancing Bears" screen-printed directly onto the top using a unique process that doesn't dampen the wood's vibration. It’s paired with a mahogany neck and a bi-level rosewood fingerboard that gives you plenty of string tension and a fast, comfortable "C" profile. This is a guitar that punches big tones thanks to its FST2 forward-shifted X-bracing system. By moving the scalloped bracing closer to the soundhole, Alvarez allows the solid spruce top to vibrate more freely, resulting in a massive, resonant tone with a surprisingly deep low end for a folk-sized body. Whether you’re fingerpicking some "Ripple" or strumming through a long "Dark Star" jam, the mahogany back and sides provide a warm, focused midrange that sits perfectly in a live mix or a recording.
