Used 2025 Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Hummingbird Fixed Bridge Heritage Cherry Sunburst Acoustic Guitar With OHSC

Used And Vintage

Sometimes an amazing guitar makes a return appearance, and that's what we have here.  This gorgeous Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Hummingbird was built this year, here at Truetone briefly, sold and just now traded back in.  The customer that got it only played it a few times before deciding to go with a different style acoustic.  So, this one essentially brand new, available on a great deal.

Introduced in 1960 as Gibson's first square-shoulder design, the Hummingbird rapidly established itself among iconic artists of its era. This 1960 Hummingbird model is built with a Thermally Aged Sitka spruce top, faithfully reproducing the tone and aesthetic of the classic originals. Equipped with a fixed bridge, it showcases Gibson’s advanced Thin Finish alongside a carefully applied hand-rubbed VOS treatment. Every element of this guitar highlights superior craftsmanship and timeless character.

The mahogany body produces a warm, resonant sound with deep, rich bass tones. Paired with the Sitka spruce top, it introduces vibrant brightness that enhances both clarity and articulation. This blend offers a balanced tonal spectrum, allowing for versatility across various playing styles. While often preferred for strumming, this Hummingbird performs exceptionally well with fingerpicking and plucking techniques too.

The mahogany neck presents a rounded profile reminiscent of vintage models, providing superior comfort during play. Complemented by a refined rosewood fretboard, it is detailed with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays that elevate both its visual appeal and timeless elegance.

This model showcases the iconic Hummingbird pickguard, a defining feature of this renowned guitar. Other notable details include Gotoh Keystone tuners, a bone nut, and a premium hardshell case for secure storage and easy transport.

Experience the charm of a vintage-inspired acoustic guitar built with contemporary precision. Capturing the distinctive tone of the classic ’60s Hummingbird, this model ranks as our top selection within the entire Hummingbird series. It is an indispensable instrument for musicians who demand genuine sound and superior craftsmanship.

The guitar is in excellent condition - as stated, it's basically new - and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  It's an amazing find for anyone wanting a classic Hummingbird.
