Up for sale is a reissue of a Gretsch classic, this Gretsch G6128T-1957 Duo Jet in Black. We just took this one, which is in great shape, especially considering it's almost old enough to drink now.
A 1957 Gretsch Duo Jet is everything that helped Grestch's become a household name amongst guitarist. This guitar features all the appointments to honor this classic instrument. What you get is a chambered bounded body mahogany body matched with a maple cap. You get the best resonant tone that is woody, deep, and even has a bit of twang. Speaking of twang this guitar is equipped with a pair of TV Jones T-Armond single-coil pickups. They give you dynamic and articulate tones that can pair well with gain or stay clean with even twangy tones available. The neck is a solid mahogany set neck with a standard "U" with a 12" radius. This is quite unique from other guitars even other Grestsch guitars. There is a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets with a bone nut for improved sustain and tuning.
You get the classic Duo Jet controls with a pickup selector, Master Volume knob, Bridge and Neck pickup Volume, and Master Tone Control. This is G6128-T meaning it comes with the iconic Bigsby tremolo system for those expressive tremolo bends. You get a player upgrade with a Gotoh Tune-a-matic Bridge and also includes the original Gretsch Bridge in the case.
This guitar is in great condition and comes with all the original Gretsch case candy and hang tags, and the original hardshell case. It's the complete package. The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop and is ready to go!
