Rickenbacker 4005XC AFG Amber FireGlo Semi Hollow
To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Rickenbacker, the legendary Southern California company released two Limited Edition models that became must-have for fans of the brand. For its four-string offering, Rickenbacker combined the functionalities of a 4005 hollow-body bass with the point body shape of Rickenbacker's 300 series models, in a 30.5" scale format. The result is the 40005XC bass – an impressive feat in the bass world, and instantly collectible.
Composed of a maple body, three-piece maple neck, and ebony fretboard, the new model also comes equipped with a pair of vintage-voiced pickups. It's in a beautiful Amber FireGlo finish, and adorned with checkerboard binding and crushed pearl inlays. It's super comfortable to play, and of course sounds amazing. The vintage voiced "toaster" pickups are enhanced with stereo output jacks. This is a special bass, with a tone all its own.
Rickenbacker doesn't do many limited runs, and ones like this are especially rare. We were able to secure one last one, which is represented in the photos seen. Once this one is gone, it's gone for good!
