PRS Core Studio Custom Color Fire Red With Case

PRS Core Studio Custom Color Fire Red With Case

Single Coil Snap & Humbucking Power

The PRS Studio model is a modern take on a traditional single-single-hum guitar.  You don't see many of these out there, and certainly not as beautiful as this one.    We just scored this from PRS - it's technically not a 10 Top, so it doesn't have that additional price added on, but it sure looks like a 10 Top candidate to us!  Also, it's a custom color, not one normally offered on the Studio model.  It's called Fire Red, and is truly stunning.

With PRS’s proprietary Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions and a 58/15 LT humbucking treble pickup, the PRS Studio offers punchy singlecoils, vintage scooped tones, and the chunky kick of a treble humbucker screaming in one instrument. This whole new scope of sounds (that are only possible with a three-pickup guitar) are easily accessible in the Studio model thanks to the push/pull tone control and 5-way blade switch. With seven combinations in all, the PRS Studio covers classic tones but maintains a unique voice making it a perfect “desert island” guitar.

Neck shapes and build quality have always been a high priority for PRS and a hallmark of our quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like "home," as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. Modern tooling and programming  allows them to even more preciously shape and consistently reproduce the necks.  Perfected after years of prototyping, the new "Pattern" neck is an updated Wide Fat PRS neck style based on Paul’s pre-factory design. These necks were found on the instruments built for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese from the late 70’s to the mid 80’s.  It's super comfortable and the most popular of the profiles.  That's what's on this particulr guitar.

For 2024, PRS Guitars is updating the tuning machines on many of the Core guitars. While, aesthetically, the new Wing buttons are designed to echo the 12th fret bird wingspan design, they were first and foremost designed for tonal reasons all the way back in 1982. Because these buttons are lighter weight than their metal predecessors, they are subtracting less energy from the vibrating strings, thus helping the guitar ring longer and at a more musical note.

A PRS Studio is a special guitar with a ton of versatility - and this one in particular really stands out.
