Pre Owned Soul Alone Guitars Thinline T-style Electric Guitar Custom Built for Daryl Hall
For your private eyes, here's a great deal on an incredible guitar. You don't have to be a rich girl to enjoy this custom built Soul Alone Thinline T-style guitar that was especially made for legendary songwriter/musician Daryl Hall!
This guitar was custom built by Shigeru Ambiru of Soul Alone Guitars in Japan in 2015 specifically for Daryl Hall. This instrument is currently owned by the excellent songwriter/vocalist/ musician March Fry, who is the daughter of Amanda Aspinall (married to Hall, 2009-2015) and the stepdaughter of Hall, who gifted this guitar to her.
The guitar was expertly and meticulously made with Daryl Hall’s own Fender Thinline Telecaster in mind (hence the similarities), which is his most used “go to” guitar. This exquisite instrument features a korina body with a hard maple neck. It's super comfortable, with a C shape profile. The grain on the korina (white limba) body is absolutely beautiful. The tortoise shell pickguard is a nice touch as well.
You'll love the powerful tone of this guitar - it's smooth, perfect for clean playing, but also has the ability to dirty up and rock out. The single pickup is a Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II Lead , which Hall had put in the guitar (original pickup is included). We can see why he had this put in the guitar - it sounds amazing. According to Seymour Duncan, it uses a vintage coil wind, and sand-cast Alnico 2 rod magnets, so you get the classic Tele twang but with a nice roundness added in, with a smoky sweetness on the high end.
Beyond just a guitar, this is a piece of music history and truly collectible. The package includes the following:
- Certificate of Authenticity stating that Daryl Hall was the original owner and gifted it to March Fry
- Letter from Shigeru Ambiru to Hall
- Build Diary created by the builder showing how the guitar was built
- Original Shigeru Ambiru custom wound pickup
- A “Daryl’s House” guitar strap that Hall used with the guitar
- Original hardshell case
