The Jeffrey Foskett Collection - Gibson ES-335-12
Truetone Music is proud to be partnered with the legendary musician and songwriter Jeffrey Foskett in offering instruments out of his collection. Each comes with a signed certificate verifying the authenticity of this instrument; assuring that it has been used on tour, in studio or personally by him. During his years with the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr and his own solo career, various instruments were used and very few have become available, until now.
A highlight from the collection is this Gibson ES-335-12 in Cherry. It's a rare guitar, in that not many were made when Gibson reissued the model about 10 years ago. It's even more rare in that it was personally given to Jeffrey Foskett by the CEO of Gibson at the time. It makes this one truly unique.
The guitar was built in 2013 in Memphis, and has remained unchanged from the original specs. Everyone knows what an ES-335 is, but rarely do you see the 12 string version. It's a great mix of the buttery playability of an ES-335, but with the added jangle that a 12 string provides. It's a meticulous recreation of the legendary rare version from 1961. A maple-laminate body is perfect for this sound, and it has all of the 60's vibe you could ever ask for, with an authentic nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The dual Burst Bucker 1 and 2 pickups sound amazing, and are splittable via the push/pull pots. The tune-o-matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece keep it stable and in tune. Every Gibson Custom guitar like this gets an ultra precise Plek Pro setup, which optimizes the fretboard and nut for incredibly accurate intonation and the right feel.
Not only is the guitar special in general, but this one in particular holds special pedigree. Jeffrey Foskett has owned it, and just recently decided to part with it. It's in excellent condition - rarely played, it's like new. All of the parts are original, and it comes with the original hardshell case. The signed Certificate of Authenticity is included. As an added bonus, we've included a full box set of memorabilia and recordings, as follows:
