Let your music take flight with this incredible Gibson Dove Original in Vintage Cherry Sunburst. This is a legendary square shoulder dreadnought that brings you powerful tones with plenty of midrange and bass, because there's nothing like a Dove.

We just took this one in from once of our favorite sources - a long-time customer that's a collector who keeps all of his guitars in pristine shape.  This one is no exception.  The guitar was just bought here at Truetone a few months ago, and only played a few times.  So, you're looking at an almost brand new Dove at a great price.

The Dove was first introduced in the early 60's, and forever changed the acoustic guitar landscape. Countless players such as Tom Petty who wrote the hit song American Girl on one, and Elvis, who played a Dove at the Aloha from Hawaii concert film.

This iconic square-shoulder acoustic electric guitar, features a flame maple back and sides, with a vibrant and stunning Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish. With its combination of maple construction and square-shoulder body, you get an instrument that brings you warmth and tonal balanced while its solid Sitka spruce top delivers articulation and projection.

The mahogany neck has a round profile that is very comfortable, and is topped with a choice rosewood fretboard, 20 frets and mother of pearl parallelogram inlays.  It's a breeze to play, the type of guitar that you don't want to put done.

Classic Dove details include bone nut and saddle, double antiqued multi-ply binding, nickel Grover keystone tuners, a traditional Dove truss rod cover, and a cherished pickguard featuring an inlaid mother-of-pearl Dove with hand-engraved and painted detailing.

The LR Baggs VTC pickup/preamp system delivers exceptional amplification for the Dove's distinctive voice through its sophisticated under-saddle transducer. The streamlined design enhances pickup-to-guitar connection, yielding superior sensitivity that captures the instrument's full dynamic range and crystalline treble response. Complemented by an unobtrusive preamp and discrete soundhole-mounted volume control, this system reproduces the Dove Original's acoustic character with remarkable fidelity and transparency when amplified.

This incredible guitar was built in Bozeman, Montana and its in excellent condition and comes with its original hardshell case.   We did install a strap button on the neck heel (not shown in the photos, as it was done after these were taken).  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, and it's quite the score!
