Pre Owned 2022 Gibson Custom Shop 1957 SJ-200 Antique Natural With OHSC
This 1957 SJ-200 Custom Shop guitar from Gibson is the "King of the Flat-tops", renowned for its vintage aura. Crafted with hand-picked maple for back and sides and a headstock stinger, the instrument is further enhanced with thermal aging of the top for a truly vintage feel.
We are excited to present a previously-owned, barely ever played, Custom Shop 1957 SJ-200. Built in 2022, a regular customer just bought this a few months ago, before realizing that it just wasn't the guitar for him. For anyone that knows they like large acoustics, and wants the big, booming sound of a Gibson Jumbo, this is the one.
As expected, Gibson's workshop in Montana turned out an absolute stunner here, especially when it comes to the wood for the back & sides of the body. It's hand-selected Flame Maple - and while our photos show it, in person it's even more impressive. We've seen other SJ-200's like this, and none compare to how nicely figured the flame is on this one. The thermally aged Sitka Spruce top is also spectacular. This pair provides excellent clarity and definition to the full, rich tone of a jumbo, perfectly for flat-picking, strumming or a variety of styles.
The guitar comes with the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. It's in perfect condition - as stated previously, the previous owner had it for just a few months and barely played it. It has been vetted and setup by the techs in our repair shop to play perfectly. This is the opportunity to score a great deal on a guitar that is currently backordered from Gibson for over a year out.
