Up for sale is an incredible Gibson Custom Shop reissue, this GIbson 1964 SG Standard! This awesome Cherry SG includes the classic Maestro Vibrola for expressive pitch bending and has all of the classic and vibe it had back in 1964, complete with the right specs and a lacquer finish.  This particular guitar was originally new here at Truetone, sold to a long time customer of ours that only played it a few times, and is now back, available on a great deal. 

The Gibson Custom Shop represents the epitome of precision, excellence, and exceptional sound. Every instrument pays homage to Gibson's rich history with meticulousness, authenticity, and meticulous attention to detail.

The '64 SG Standard witnessed an iconic time in music as it was favored by legends like George Harrison and Eric Clapton. This model year marked significant improvements for SGs, such as the replacement of the clunky side-pull vibrato with the dependable Maestro Vibrola. Additionally, the neck profile was enlarged to mirror that of the renowned 1959 Les Pauls, resulting in enhanced balance, playability, and overall aesthetic appeal. This particular SG Reissue boasts meticulous vintage specifications, from its original construction methods and red aniline dye finish to the replica electronics and chemically-recreated plastics, making it arguably the most impressive SG Reissue to date in terms of appearance, feel, and sound.

This SG guitar boasts a contoured mahogany body and a double cutaway for easy fingerboard access, making it a well-balanced and versatile instrument.  Of course it is equipped with a pair of powerful humbuckers in the form of Custombucker Alnico III's. This guitar is perfect for any style of music but definitely has a rich history of players cranking up the distortion. This Gibson Custom Shop 1964 SG Standard is excellent condition and comes with its original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.  It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, and is ready to go!
