Pre Owned G&L Tribute Series ASAT Classic Bluesboy Ice Blue Metallic With Gig Bag
It's time to play an instrument that is the literally tribute to one of the greatest guitar builders Leo Fender and his classic design with this G&L Tribute Series ASAT Classic Bluesboy. This guitar is the evolution of Leo's designs after he left Fender and formed G&L guitars.
This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis. Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group. Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various customized accessories.
The guitar has been upgraded with custom knobs and a bullet switch tip. The included gig bag also has a bonus - a really nice leather strap, cable, and clip-on tuner.
The ASAT Classic Bluesboy features a classic poplar slab body with single cutaway that gives plenty of access to the fingerboard. This body has a lush Lake Placid Blue sparkle gloss finish that really shines. You get a hard-rock maple neck with a medium C profile with a 9.5" radius and a 1 5/8" nut width. It comes with a rosewood fingerboard with 22 nickel medium jumbo frets perfect for stability and bending. All of this with a classic 25 1/2" scale length.
The heart of this guitar's tone is the tonal combination of its humbucker pickup in the neck and single-coil pickup in the bridge. There is a G&L AS4255C Alnico neck humbucker and a Leo Fender-designed G&L MFD single coil bridge pickup. You've got the best of both worlds, warm thick tones from the neck, and sparkly articulate tones from the bridge pickup. There is a solid traditional boxed-steel bridge with individual brass saddles for great intonation and sustain. This is an exceptional guitar with fantastic player upgrades. You get upgraded tuners, custom stylish Volume and Tone controls and switch tip.
