Pre Owned Fender Custom Shop Bass VI NOS Seafoam Sparkle With OHSC

 -Used And Vintage

Debuting in 1961, the Fender Bass VI six-string bass quickly became a favorite secret weapon in the arsenals of producers and players seeking to add extra sonic depth to their sound. Beloved of both guitarists and bassists, the Bass VI earned its place in the mix, appearing on a surprisingly large and diverse array of recordings over the ensuing decades (Jet Harris, Glen Campbell, the Beatles, Aerosmith and the Cure to name only a few).   If you've played a Fender Bass VI before, you know how versatile and useful it can be, especially in the studio.  If you have not, you're in for a treat.

Here we have a rather special one - built in 2011 as part of a special event offering, this Custom Shop Bass VI was kept in a studio closet and never really played.  Now, years later, it has reemerged from the darkness to bring it's sparkle to the world.

The first thing you'll notice is the extremely captivating look - that's Seafoam Sparkle, something you definitely won't see every day.  In fact, it's something we've never seen on a Bass VI.  It looks amazing under the nitrocellulose lacquer finish.  The matching headstock is the cherry on top, if cherries came in Seafoam Sparkle (admit it, that sounds delicious).

The Custom Shop did this one as an NOS (New Old Stock), without any relic work.  Since it was kept safely its case, it still looks pristine - the instrument is in excellent condition.  Of course the original case is included, as is the Certificate of Authenticity.

This Bass VI has an alder body that is very resonant, and a rock solid maple neck with a rosewood fretboard.  The Custom Shop built this to vintage spec.  It's just as you would excpect. For pickups, it has Custom Shop '62 Jaguar pickups with flat magnets.  The resulting sound is warm, deep and round, but with enough mids and top end to cut through the mix when needed.  It's easy to play, with a very comfortable C shape neck profile, and is the tyupe of instrument that you don't want to put down.

For those that want the classicness of a 60's Bass VI in a rare and vibrant color, there really couldn't be a better find than this.
