Here's a winner of a bass: a slightly used Fender American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass, upgraded with Custom Shop pickups.
The Fender American Vintage II collection offers an exceptionally faithful reproduction of the groundbreaking designs that shaped music history. Featuring bodies, necks, and hardware true to the original era, along with high-quality finishes and carefully tuned, era-specific pickups, each guitar embodies the genuine Fender sound and craftsmanship.
The period from the late 1950s to early 1960s marked a pivotal evolution for Fender, introducing key features that would define the Precision Bass. By 1960, the design had moved beyond its Telecaster®-inspired origins to include a Strat-style headstock, ergonomic body contours, pickguard-mounted electronics, and a 4-saddle bridge. Finished in classic 3-Color Sunburst with a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, the 1960 Precision Bass showcased a sophisticated and timeless look that has become iconic for the model.
Featuring a premium alder body, and a substantial "C" shape hard rock maple neck mated with a 7.25" radius slab rosewood fingerboard, the American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass reproduces the quintessential tone and feel of the original.
This particular bass was upgraded Custom Shop 60's P Bass pickups, evoking the sound of the originals. This is how you get the classic tone with the powerful low-end thump.
The bass is in excellent condition, comes with the original case, and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.
