The Les Paul Junior was originally launched in 1954 as an accessible choice for students and beginners but has evolved in choice as a favorite for some many incredible musicians. You see a lot of them out there with modifications, and we've had some great ones, but this one may take the cake for the best alterations.
Featuring a single cutaway slab mahogany body and a single dogear P-90 pickup, this guitar delivers rich, detailed sound. Handwired with matched potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors, its carefully chosen components ensure outstanding musical performance. The solid mahogany build paired with a classic nitrocellulose lacquer finish offers durability and a timeless aesthetic, making it a professional-grade instrument built for serious players. This guitar comes with a pickup route that has been widened and the pickup has been repositioned approximately 1/8" further from the Bridge.
Discover the remarkable tonal versatility of its upgraded P-90 pickup. This one gets a Wolfetone Meaner P90 with Alnico 5 magnets. This pickup delivers a hotter output of around 9k, providing abundant midrange grit and character. The P-90 offers clear, articulate tones even at reduced volume levels. Its versatile, gritty sound is brighter and more raw than humbuckers, yet it retains the rich warmth and precise articulation characteristic of a single-coil pickup.
You have complete tonal control with aged speed knobs. The electronic upgrades feature pointer (Thumb Bleed) washers, and fresh CTS 500k Volume/ 250k Tone pots, a new Switchcraft output jack and nickel jackplate.
Hardware upgrades include a Music City "Savvy" compensated wraparound bridge with Tonepros nickel-plated locking steel studs. You get Hosco (Gotoh - Japan) Revival vintage style white button tuners that have been slightly aged with nickel Gotoh conversion bushings and a plain black '50s reproduction truss rod cover.
