Pre Owned 2012 Gibson Limited Edition Jeff Tweedy 1961 SG Standard - Blue Mist With OHSC

An SG is Born! This 2012 Gibson Limited Edition Jeff Tweedy Signature SG Standard is a visually stunning tribute to the Wilco frontman’s impeccable taste, blending early-60s specs with a unique, custom finish. It's everything you know and love of an SG, with more.
This is a rare find - you won't see many of these out there, as the model was made for a very short period of time. It's been in high demand ever since. It's been reported that some had tuning issues, but you're in luck - we're happy to report that this is one of the good ones. It has been vetted and setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.
The solid mahogany body is finished in a rare and elegant Blue Mist nitrocellulose lacquer, a color that perfectly complements the unbound look of this particular model. It features a solid mahogany neck with a slim, fast 1961 profile and a premium rosewood fingerboard adorned with classic acrylic trapezoid inlays. This was a limited run that quickly became a cult favorite for its "vintage-mod" vibe and its deviation from the standard cherry or black SG finishes.
This SG has the original pickups - a pair of BurstBucker 1 pickups with nickel covers, which are some of the most accurate PAF-styled humbuckers available today. Made with genuine unpolished Alnico II magnets, and wound with 42-AWG enamel-coated wire just like the originals, these pickups employ unequal turns of wire in each coil for that characteristic PAF bite and edge. They deliver a creamy, articulate growl that is perfect for the kind of layered textures Tweedy is known for, but they have more than enough bite for straight-ahead blues, classic rock, and pretty any style of playing. The control layout is the standard dual volume and dual tone with a 3-way toggle, utilizing high-quality pots to give you a smooth, musical sweep.
The hardware is what really sets this Jeff Tweedy signature apart, featuring a Maestro Lyre Vibrola tailpiece with a decorative engraved cover that provides a smooth, subtle vibrato and a classic 60s silhouette. It’s paired with a Tune-O-Matic bridge and vintage-style "Tulip" button tuners that ensure rock-solid tuning and a period-correct look. With its "small" 1961-style pickguard and the distinctive contrast of the Blue Mist finish against the nickel hardware, this SG is a sophisticated, high-performance machine that feels as good as it looks.
It’s a rare, artist-inspired Gibson that offers a great blend of the familiar and unique. It's in great condition and comes with a hardshell case. This is a great find.
