Pre-Owned 2010 Fender Classic Series 50's Esquire 2-Tone Sunburst With Case

Back in the early days of the 21st century, Fender came out with the Classic Series '50s Esquire, which was a hit for the 11 years that the model ran. Players loved the simplicity, dug the tone, and appreciated the value. We don't see many of these coming in, but are always happy when one does. And when it has serious upgrades? That's even more of an occasion to celebrate Fender's simplest design.
The Classic Series '50s Esquirer features an ash body with a comfortable "C" profile neck that has 21 vintage-style frets and a 7.25" radius to keep it true to vintage spec, especially with the 1.625" nut width. Keeping up with that, you get an American Vintage string-through-body Telecaster bridge with three chrome "barrel" saddles, as well as vintage style tuners.
Where this particular guitar shines is the electronics. First things first, it has a Seymour Duncan STL-1 Vintage '54 Tele lead pickup. For players taht want a straight forward approach and the tone that defined early rock, blues and country music in the 1950's, this vintage output pickup brings it. You get a bright and well defined treble response that will sound great overdriven, but can always clean up nicely. Wax potting with copper plated steel bottom plate eliminates squeal. You get the true early Fender sound with this pickups.
The second major upgrade to this guitar is that it has been outfitted with an Emerson 3-Way Esquire Prewired Kit. Handwired in the USA, it uses high quality component. It gives you 3 unique sounding positions, and with the use of Emerson Pro pots the taper and sweep of the volume and tone pots allow for the perfect tailoring of both volume and tone to your liking. The 1st Position (Volume Only) is great for a straight up base tone. Switch to the 2nd position (Standard Volume & Tone) and dial in the tone knob to your liking, giving you enough difference between the 1st positions bypassed tone signal and the 3rd positions fixed capacitor tone. The 3rd position (Volume & Fixed Capacitor) features a 0.0047uf Paper In Oil capacitor that gives a fixed rolled off tone (Eldred Mod) that is independent of the tone pot. Great for a darker, but still useable tone. Wired with 22 AWG vintage push-back wire for that vintage look and sound. Soldered connections to the input jack are insulated with heat-shrink to ensure durability and long life.
Additionally, the guitar has been outfitted with a nice white pearl pickguard for a touch of class to step it up a bit. The original pickguard, as well as the original pickup and electronics, are all included in the case.
Speaking of which, this guitar comes with a hardshell case - a nice bonus, since originally it was just a gig bag.
If you're looking for a sweet Esquire, especially one with quality player upgrades, this is a great score. It's in excellent condition and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. It's quite the find - we think it will be gone quickly.
