Pre Owned 2009 Fender Custom Shop Custom Deluxe Strat NOS 3-Tone Sunburst With Case

In 2009, the Fender Custom Shop unveiled a new collection, known as the Custom Deluxe series.  These guitar were designed for the working musician, not as focused on "period correct" specs, and more modernized compared to what else they were doing.  They proved to be a big hit.  We were lucky enough to just take one in that appears to have been virtually unplayed since it was made, and is in impeccable condition.

 

This Custom Deluxe Stratocaster comes with a select alder body, in nitro cellulose lacquer finish.  It's an "NOS", meaning New Old Stock - so there's no relic'ing or aging done to it.  The flame maple '65 C shape neck has a 9.5" radius, 22 narrow tall (6105) frets and hand-selected dark rosewood fretboard.  It plays like butter.  It features a 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with polished solid stainless steel saddles and block, along with deluxe stagged locking tuners.  These, along with a additional features, makes the Custom Deluxe a true player's guitar.

 

Of course, the guitar sounds amazing - it's a Custom Shop Strat, so that's expected.  This one in particular has a great mixed set of pickups: the neck & middle positions have a Custom Shop '69 Strat single coils, and the bridge position has a Custom Shop Texas special for extra bite.  We love how this combination works.  Fender Custom Shop '69 Stratocaster pickups produce one of the most revered guitar sounds in popular music history-the full, punchy late-'60s blues rock tone that ruled the era from Monterey on the West Coast to Woodstock on the East Coast. Because of the clarity and transparency created by the unique coil wind and magnet structure, the '69 pickup design works especially well with pedals allowing the low end to thump and the high end to soar.  Characterized by the midrange power, crystalline highs and tight bass, the  Custom Shop Texas Special Strat the bridge pickup features an overwound single-coil construction that produces a tone that will cut through the mix.

The guitar is in excellent, almost mint condition (we are careful to say that, as it's thin lacquer finish that could have scratches), is all original and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  The original hardshell case is included, along with the Certificate of Authenticity and all of the other accessories (strap, cable, paperwork, etc.).  This is the complete package.

 

As a Showcase level dealer for the Fender Custom Shop, we get a lot of amazing guitars in here - but sometimes it's a used one that really grabs our attention.  That's the case here, especially when it's as clean as this one.  The previous owner is a very meticulous person that kept great care of their instruments, making this a great score.
