Pre Owned 1996 Fender 50th Anniversary Stratocaster Plus 3-Tone Brown Sunburst with Case
We have a little piece of Fender history here - a 50th Anniversary Strat Plus, built in 1996, and kept in great shape. The Strat Plus itself has become a bit of a cult favorite over the years, due to it's unique specs. The 50th Anniversary versions are even more highly sought after. We've only seen a few, and definitely none as clean as this one.
One of the main features is the pickup set. The guitar has 3 Gold Fender-Lace Sensor pickups, which were a big thing back then and have gained a resurgence in popularity recently. The 22 fret neck is topped with a dark rosewood fretboard with beautiful grain. An LSR roller nut, Schaller locking tuners and a two-point American Standard tremolo with brushed steel saddles round out this guitar and help stay in tune. The alder body has a beautiful sunburst finish.
Everything is original, but we're unsure about the anodized gold pickguard - it looks to be original but we can't find any examples of this model having that exact pickguard. It may have been swapped for aesthetic purposes. Other than that, it appears to be all original. Same goes for the case - it could be original but we're not sure exactly what the guitar originally came with. On the back of the headstock, you'll see the "Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence" emblem, perfectly intact (quite often, you'll see Fender's from 1996 where this has been removed or fallen off).
This 50th Anniversary Strat Plus is in incredible shape, super clean and playing perfectly after being setup by the techs in our shop. A harshell case is included. This is a rare bird and an excellent addition to any collection.
