Pre Owned 1989 Gibson Les Paul Standard Ebony With OHSC
What happened in 1989? The Berlin Wall fell. The Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. Nintendo's Game Boy was released. Poison came out with Every Rose Has Its Thorn. And this amazing Gibson Les Paul Standard in Ebony was born.
The mahogany body with a maple top resonants strongly, and together with the original humbuckers, sustain for days is available. The mahogany neck with a slim taper profile is super comfortable, and is topped with a beautiful rosewood fretboard. This is a classic Les Paul, with all of the thickness in tone you could ever want. Whether played clean or overdriven, this one sounds great. The Bill Lawrenece humbuckers (HB-R and HB-L) really cut through - they are great for firey solos, but also can support any rhythm playing.
We love the way it looks, with the Ebony finish offset by the cream binding. The guitar is in great shape for being 34 years old - it shows a bit of player wear but nothing major. There are no cracks, repairs, or issues. It's been setup by the techs in our shop, and plays great. The frets are in excellent condition without heavy wear. Everything on the guitar is original, and the original hardshell case is included. This guitar is a complete winner, and sure to go fast!
