Designed by Leo Fender, Tom Walker, and Sterling Ball, the StingRay bass emerged in 1976. Its design was similar to a P bass but included unique features such as a humbucking pickup, 9-volt battery-powered active preamp, and the iconic "3+1" headstock. In 1983, Music Man was on the brink of bankruptcy until Ernie Ball acquired the company. The Ernie Ball era StingRay debuted in 1984, and has been a favorite of many bass players ever since then.
And what do we have here? A 2007 model in a super cool transparent finish that shows the wood grain nicely. This is an HH version with dual humbuckers, which sound amazing. You get the power and the punch, with the sizzle and clarity that players have loved ever since the StingRay came out. You also get the super comfortable neck, a well balanced bass, and a ton of vibe. This bass also has a Drop D tuner on the low E string, for simple, on the fly drop tuning. So if you need to get lower than low, this is the way to go!
