Vintage 1978 Fender Dual Showman Guitar Amp Head
A legendary amp has made it's way in here to Truetone - it's this Fender Dual Showman head. This fantastic amp was made in Fullerton, CA in 1978, and is the master volume version, which is highly desirable. You don't see many of these out there.
What you get is a powerful 6L6 head that gives you plenty of clean headroom for the sparkle that Fender tube amps are known for. This is why bands like the Byrds, Fleetwood Mac, Dick Dale and more prized it for its great tone. The Showman has three preamps tubes (7025 Normal Channel,12AX7). This has the push-pull pot boost for even more grit and bite. At 100 watss, you have plenty of headroom - with plenty of versatility. Dial in the perfect tone, utlize the bright switch, and soak in the reverb. The Dual Showman is classic amp for a reason.
This particular amp has an aftermarket blue jewel light, footswitch and amp cover. Everything is original, exept for the tubes, cathode bypass caps, and one of the filter caps. It's in great condition, especially considering it's age. The amp has held up for 45 years and will quite a bit longer!
