Here at Truetone Music, we get a lot of amazing Martin guitars, including our own exclusive Custom Shop builds. All of them are amazing - and then sometimes one comes in blows us away, as it's on the next level. This is one of them. We are proud to present the Martin CEO-10, a super limited model for this year. Only 100 will be built, and this is # 22.
With woods hand selected by Martin CEO Thomas Ripsam, this exquisite 000-14 fret acoustic guitar is crafted using gorgeous Guatemalan rosewood for the back and sides; the top and its bracing are made from FSC® Certified European spruce. The mahogany neck is perfectly done, topped with an ebony fretboard, and completed by headstock faceplate made with the same Guatemalan rosewood.
The top also features a 1933 Ambertone finish. While most Martin models are just natural, the sunburst on this one adds a uniqueness and tastefully done vintage vibe. We also love the engraved pickguard, which was also made out of the same Guatemalan Rosewood. That's a seriously nice touch, and we love that Martin did it.
The CEO-10 features stunning European flamed maple binding throughout. We've been doing that on a lot of our Martin Custom Shop guitars, and it's a wonderful added bonus on an already exquisite guitar. Other features include a compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins with abalone dots on an ebony bridge, and an ebony fingerboard with Foden-style abalone inlay. The look is completed with gold open-gear tuners and custom headplate inlay on Guatemalan rosewood.
The model also comes with a Vintage Deluxe neck, which is slightly asymmetrical for comfort and playability. It's profile stems from a 1930 Martin OM-45, recreated in perfect fashion and fitting for a guitar like this. It's supremely comfortable.
Guatemalan Rosewood is known to be among the most comparable tonewoods to Brazilian Rosewood. It is light and not too dense, making it perfect for a smaller body guitar such as a 000. The tone is rich and warm while still producing a focused attack, with tons of sustain. It's balanced well with the European Spruce top. The X-bracing allows for plenty of resonance and projection, and for a small body acoustic, this one really fills the room. Whether finger picking intricate lines or strumming powerful chords, this guitar not only holds up but impresses across the board.
Each model includes a label signed by Martin CEO Thomas Ripsam and numbered in sequence. This model is limited to 100 instruments, and they’ll be sure to sell out fast. For a truly collectible guitar that will hold it's place (and value) in any collection, this CEO-10 is not to be missed.
