Fender Custom Shop Roasted 1962 Jaguar Journeyman Relic Wide Fade 2-Tone Sunburst With Case
The Roasted Jaguar
Debuting in 1962, the Jaguar was another one of Leo Fender's greatest contributions to the world of guitars. A shorter-scale (24”) instrument compared to the Tele, Strat and Jazzmaster, this represented something entirely new from Fender. Blinged out with chrome appointments galore, unique switching capabilities, and an unmistakable tone, the Jaguar turned heads upon its release. This Fender Custom Shop version, the 1962 Roasted Jaguar, brings the original into a new realm. It has the vintage vibe, but with a more player-friendly feel, and the roasted body & neck add a new element rarely seen.
The offset, two-piece select alder body was roasted and wears a thin lacquer finish that’s been aged like a fine wine, giving it the look and feel of a well-cared-for authentic original. This one is a Relic, providing the look and feel of a well-used guitar, with the perfect amount of aging. The end result is a distinct look & feel. The Custom Shop nailed it! It's in Wide Fade 3-Tone Sunburst, with a tortoise shell pickguard, with chrome hardware. Essentially, it's THE classic Jaguar look.
What will really standout is the Roasted AAA Birdseye Maple neck. It's simply gorgeous. We haven't seen many like this. The roasting process really makes the wood grain "pop", and we're blown away by it. The neck has a ’62 Jaguar profile, along with a 9.5”-radius fingerboard and medium jumbo frets. This gives it a more modern feel, for easy bending and playing in the higher register. Packed with authentic Fender tone—articulate and crisp— the ’62 Jaguar single-coil pickups incorporate the traditional Jaguar wiring that gives it a distinct voice.
Other features include the floating vibrato, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree. Includes a period correct brown hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
