Fender Custom Shop 1965 Telecaster Custom Relic Faded Aged Sherwood Green Metallic

Fender Custom Shop

1965 was a notable year for Fender, as it was when the company was bought by CBS.  For the Telecaster in particular, it was the last year of the double-bound Telecaster Custom, which has become a favorite amongst players.  While usually thought of a Tele with a rosewood fretboard, some players prefer maple.  That's where this amazing Fender Custom Shop 1965 Telecaster Custom Relic falls in.  It brings the vibe of a vintage one in all its glory, with all the scratches, dents and dings of a well-loved workhorse.  And, it's in a color you rarely see on such a Tele - a perfectly done Faded Aged Sherwood Green Metallic.

A two-piece select alder body wears a Relic lacquer finish, with the "sort for lightweight" upgrade.  The parchment binding really suits this guitar, matching the pickguard, and a perfect fit for this color.  The tinted rift-sawn maple neck features a super comfortable 60's Oval "C” profile and a unique 7.25 - 9.5” compound radius quartersawn maple fretboard for streamlined play.
Hand-wound '64 pickups evoke the sounds the of the 60's, and are very versatile for a variety of styles.  The guitar also has the Greasebucket tone circuit, which adds a new dimension to your tone.  The effect is that when rolled down, the tone pot reduces the high frequencies, but does not add bass.  This has been a popular upgrade for years, and is a great addition.
Other features include a period correct bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and knurled chrome knobs. The guitar includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
A Telecaster Custom with a maple fretboard is a somewhat rare find.  Come to Club Fender @ Truetone Music to experience it today, or order right here right now.
