Fender Custom Shop 1960 Telecaster Custom Flametop NOS Ebony Transparent With Case

Exclusive Flame Top 1960 Telecaster Custom

We at Truetone Music are always looking to come up with something you haven't seen before, especially when in partnership with Fender.  For this take on a classic 60's era Tele, we went a step further - going to the Custom Shop in Corona, CA to hand select the wood for a exclusive run of guitars.  We were taken into the vault, to go through their finest collection of wood spreads.  From that, we chose different spreads, for an exclusive run of Tele Customs.  Here is one of them, which came out wonderfully.

The Eastern White Pine body has a gorgeous AAA Flame Maple top - that's the main calling card of this guitar.  You don't see a lot of pine body Tele's out there but there's a historical nod to the early days of Fender - the first Esquire and Broadcaster prototypes were made of pine.  Leo Fender has used white pine boards for amp cabinets, which led him to this, prior to swtiching to ash.  Some find that pine is a rich and full, with a warm tone that complements the sound of vintage-styled '63 Tele pickups found in this guitar.  Of course, you eyes will gravitate to the AAA Flame Maple top, which was hand-selected for it's tight grain.  To showcase this, we went with an Ebony Transparent lacquer finish.  This makes the wood grain pop out, especially with parchment binding to frame the body perfectly.  We kept it as an NOS (New Old Stock).....no way we were going to relic this beautiful instrument!  The final result blew us away when it landed.

The 60's Oval "C" neck shape is super comfortable - this is the most popular choice for Custom Shop guitars for good reason.  It's capped with a beautiful piece of AAA rosewood for the fretboard. This guitar has the modern preference of a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets making it easy to play.

We chose classic '63 Tele pickups give it the vintage sound that is beloved by Tele players everywhere.  The bridge pickup provides punchy mids and hot highs for that classic Tele twang, with staggered pole pieces to even out the inter-string response.  The neck neck pickup provides a warm and creamy tone.

Other features include a period correct bridge with threaded saddles, vintage tuners, and a 3-ply parchment pickguard.  It comes with a special case - blonde with a blue interior.  Included is a strap and Certificate of Authenticity.

We haven't seen a Tele exactly like this ever - it's truly stunning.  Come to Truetone Music to experience it today, or make it yours right here.  Remember, only one was made, and once it's gone, it's gone for good.
