Vintage 1977 Marshall Slant Cab With "Black Backs" 4x12" 25-watt Rola Celestion Speakers Guitar Amp Cab

To complete the ultimate vintage stack, look no further than this 1977 Marshall 1960A Slant 4x12 Cabinet. Put your favorite head on top and let it rip! Dressed in its original black tolex with the iconic "Large Check" grille cloth, this "checkerboard" era cab is a critical component of the high-gain transition that occurred in late-70s rock.
The heart of this cabinet is a quad of 25-watt "Black Back" Rola Celestion G12M speakers. These are the direct descendants of the "Greenback" and are essentially the same speaker but with a black plastic magnet cover used during the mid-to-late 70s. For many players, the Black Backs represent the "sweet spot" of Celestion history—they offer the same woody, organic compression and "midrange vocal" quality of a 60s Greenback, but with a slightly more aggressive, biting top-end that helps define the 1977-1984 era of hard rock.
It has a Vertical Slant Design with angled top two speakers which provide superior high-frequency projection, ensuring you can hear your "cut" even when standing right in front of the rig. It is constructed with high-quality Birch Plywood which provides a tight, percussive low-end and legendary durability. The original casters have been replaced, so wheeling this around is no problem. This cabinet definitely has been played with plenty of wear and tear but is still in good working conditon.
***Due to the size of this cabinet, it is not eligible for shipping. It's simply too big - and we don't have boxes big enough. So, this is for local pickup only at our store in Santa Monica. Unfortuantely we cannot accommodate requests to ship it.***
