Tryouts are done you made the cut! Welcome to the tones of this Magnatone Varsity. This is a powerhouse of an amp that is big on great tube sounds with incredibly versatility and simplicity.  Here we have an old school version (non-reverb) that is in great shape.

The Varsity Reverb gives you 15-watts, powered by EL84s, with all the chime and dirt these tubes are known for. Add in a push-pull feature to give even more sensitivity. A simple 3-band EQ makes it incredibly easy to dial in your desired tone. There is also a clever Negative Feedback Switch which allows the amp to either breakup sooner or stay cleaner with more headroom depending on the setting. Magnatone has perfected the art of building high quality, professional level amps like the Varsity, and one like this is hard to beat.

Magnatone no longer offers this version, and it can be a hard one to find.  Players love it for its pure signal path, and favor how it has more punch and thump, with an in-your-face tone that stays upfront, compared to the current version.

This amp is in great condition with signs of use but nothing major - it's super clean.  As an added bonus, it comes with a padded Tuki cover.  That's a nice upgrade.  It's a great score for anyone looking to get a Magnatone amp, and this Varsity is a true winner!
