This is a slotted headstock guitar that has plenty of projection with excellent depth. Also, it's a special version, custom made for My Favorite Guitars in Florida. The inside is stamped "Custom", it has Diamond markers on the fretboard and a vintage rosette. This all solid mahogany acoustic is quite the find!
From Martin’s highly-regarded 15-Series this model features the 12-fret neck joint and the slotted headstock. By joining the neck to the body at the 12th fret rather than the 14th, this Martin has a longer body shape that provides a deeper resonance with a punchy low-end that you wouldn't expect from a mid-sized acoustic. The body is made with all-solid mahogany which gives a distinct tone from models with a spruce top. Unlike spruce-topped guitars that can sometimes be brighter, the all-mahogany build offers a natural compression and a rich midrange that is perfect for blues, folk, and singer-songwriters. The 12-fret design also places the bridge closer to the center of the lower bout, the "sweet spot" of the soundboard, which enhances the guitar’s responsiveness and sustain, making it an absolute dream for fingerstyle players.
The aesthetics are simple yet refined featuring a dark, satin-finished mahogany grain, a simple multi-ring rosette, and traditional diamond-and-square inlays on the East Indian Rosewood fingerboard.
