Ever since the Fender Road Worn series debuted in 2009, players have gravitated towards it to revive the timeless sound, feel and look of classic eras. The goal was to bring the mojo of vintage instruments to a price range that never had anything like it. Nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, aged to perfection without going overboard, and pure Fender tones that players love are what made Road Worn models so popular. Over the years, there have been various iterations - we believe this to be one of the best.
Here we have a new Limited Edition Dealer Exclusive version, the Vintera Road Worn '60s Stratocaster. If you are looking to experience the iconic looks, inspiring feel and incomparable tone that only a Fender can deliver, at a price point lower that a Custom Shop build, this cannot be beat. And, it has player-centric tweaks to bring just a touch of modernization into the mix.
Featuring a Road Worn aged nitrocellulose lacquer, the Vintera Road Worn '60s Stratocaster recreates the look and feel of a well-played classic. The limited Road Worn models are enhanced with a new subtle aging process combining light checking, gentle wear patterns and a semi-gloss finish, while maintaining the authentic broken-in feel players love about vintage Fenders.
The ‘60s “C”-shape maple neck with modern 9.5" radius fingerboard and medium jumbo frets provides supreme comfort and outstanding feel. With the flatter radius and larger frets, you'll be able to bend to your hearts content without fear of fretting out.
Under the hood, you'll find a trio of vintage voiced Vintera 60's Strat pickups. They produce the crystalline and bell-like tone that put Fender on the musical map. Non-beveled alnico 5 magnets and enamel-coated wire create a classic '60's tight and focused voice. The original magnet stagger for even output and a RWRP middle pickup eliminate hum in positions 2 and 4 complete the package.
Other features include a synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles for expressive vibrato and vintage-style tuning machines for enhanced tuning stability. A nice bonus is that this model includes a deluxe hardshell case (in the past it was just a gig bag).
