Creek Guitars Time Machine Series CSJ 1959 Aged Vintage Sunburst Acoustic with Case
Handmade in Japan by top of the line luthiers, Creek Guitars brings a new level of quality that is hard to compete with. We came on board as a dealer as one of their first in the U.S., and sold all of them immediately. Now they're back. There are few very Creek Guitars in general, especially here in the U.S. They can be quite hard to find.
The CSJ model is designed based on the study of an authentic 1959 Southern Jumbo, aiming to replicate its texture and resonance. The top and bracing materials use meticulously selected high-quality Sitka Spruce, torrefied processing by a specified vendor to achieve the texture of vintage wood. This results in an instrument that captures the lightness of a genuine vintage piece, with a crisp and resonant high frequency, substantial depth in the low tones, and a powerful jumbo-like tone. The parts incorporate iconic designs from that era, including features such as fingerboard binding and double parallelogram inlays. The tuners are equipped with Kluson Single Line Aging.
The aging process is conducted by skilled artisans based on actual vintage specimens, finishing each instrument by hand. While there are decorative elements such as weather checks and worn-in scratches developed over time, there is also a focus on studying the 'Effects of Aging on Sound.' This research informs a unique aged finish, adjusting both the final appearance and sound by carefully considering aspects like the layers and thickness of the coating, the stiffness of the paint, and the painting process starting from the early stages of coating.
